Muneer A. Malik, former President Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, suffered acute renal failure and was shifted from Attock jail to PIMS Hospital, Islamabad, at around 6 pm.
This move was only done when his medical condition deteriorated dangerously. He has suffered acute renal failure and is now undergoing dialysis. It was reported earlier that Muneer, former President Supreme Court Bar Association, was tortured and the renal failure could have resulted from that.
The English language Dawn News channel got an exclusive interview with him in the hospital, shown below.
Muneer’s resolve and mental strength for his cause despite his serious medical condition is admirable.
He is still under detention. Some lawyers, including Hamid Khan, managed to meet him during the transfer and say that he is dangerously ill.
All are requested to exercise maximum efforts and pressure through all channels to ensure that:
a) His near and dear ones are allowed to visit and attend to him.
b) His detention orders are immediately lifted to allow him to receive appropriate medical treatment; whether in Pakistan or abroad.
