Two students of FAST-NU along with 10 other civil society activists, were arrested from House of Justice Siddiqui (Tolington Road GOR) where they were participating in the vigil.
After the arrests about 80 to 120 protesters (Students and other civil society members) gathered in front of Race Course Police Station near China Chowk. They started protesting against the arrests and demanded the release of their friends. Till 3:00 AM (7th December) the protesters were present at the street in front of the police station.
Govt. has filled an application against the SHO of the police station and he has been given a showcause notice as to why didnt he stop the illegal activity of allowing the students and civil society to participate in the vigil in front of Justice Siddiqui’s house. The SHO will be going to the civil court to answer the showcause notice at 11:00 A.M today (7th December). Students present at the scene have decided to go with the SHO in form of a procession to the Court.
