Saurav Ganguly gave India the all important breakthrough just over an hour after play resumed on Day 3 when he picked up the set batsman Salman Butt for 68. He pitched it on a length and outside the off-stump and it just moved a shade away. Butt fell for the lure of the poke and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik made no mistake behind the stumps. Kumble looked a bit frustrated in the previous over, but for now, it’s all smiles !

On the third day of the series-deciding third Test, Indian bowlers try to get early breakthroughs as Pakistan resumed on 86 for one as they chase India’s mammoth total.

Pakistan were trailing by 540 runs on Day 2. Salman Butt (50) and Younis Khan (7) were at the crease.

India’s total was boosted by a majestic double hundred by Sourav Ganguly and a remarkable maiden hundred from Irfan Pathan as India ended up at 626 in the first innings on Sunday.
