ISLAMABAD–Police say a British man suspected of plotting to blow up U.S.-bound airliners has escaped after appearing at an extradition hearing.
The British government had asked Pakistan to extradite Rashid Rauf, 25, to London, where he is wanted in connection with the murder of his uncle in 2002.
Rauf, of Pakistani origin, was arrested here in August 2006 on a tip from British investigators. He has been described as a key suspect in an alleged plot to blow up jetliners flying from Britain to the United States.
The case prompted a major security alert at airports worldwide and increased restrictions on carry-on items.
Rauf’s lawyer said his client’s disappearance “comes at a time when the British government is trying to extradite him and it all looks very suspicious to me.”
Islamabad police said they are questioning several officers who were to guard Rauf.

This is a poly and stupid game to fool the people using these bad boys. We all know about these dramas were played and would be played in the near future. The bad boy was trained, brain washed, injected hate materail and infused venom to create fear and uncertainity. Guys this dirty game would backfire. Bad boys are just chickens but the power behind them was invisible but now known to everyone. Gone are the days when religion was the victim and the ultimate tool of dictators to level the ground. We are not fools generals.
Bad boy’s escape drama is a foolish act and outdated game. So my friends understand the drama and smile at mentality of generals.
