CNG outage?

There are rumours that there will be no CNG in the country for the next two days! If this is true, it is going to be really horrible… Because this means higher transport costs (riksha’s), CNG buses will stop running, petrol will sell in double the quantity and hence petrol prices will go up, and if there is a shortage of Sui Gas then heaters and geysers will also stop working! Plus, the prices that go up will not necessarily come back to their normal levels even after the crisis is over.

Thinking in the long term, it seems like Pakistan is slowly running out of everything! Gas, water, electricity, flour, sugar, and what not! Given this decline, I really wonder what will be next? Oxygen?

No longer a rumor - news is true. “I really wonder what will be next? Oxygen”, that my friend is not a far off reality …unfortunately, as pollution is at an all time high (thanks to our junky industries, rickshaws, excessive digging and leaving open dirt etc etc). And the government is busy furthering this, amongst a number of other things by having a ‘chinki’ (or whatever, the one with a motorcycle and a carriage) in the employment scheme …morons! Another “thank you Musharraf”

and they still say in newspapers that “We are going to win on our last 5 years performance” … I wonder if they are really proud of this performance.

No CNG for 2 days? That’s nothing compared to what I have heard (from credible sources). It is said that we have depleted the main gas reserves of the country and soon, CNG will be out of reach for most Pakistanis. Only time will tell.
