I cannot be impeached: Musharraf

I don’t know if I should laugh or cry specially when Musharraf makes statements like these, he sounds more like a deranged maniac who suddenly feel rejuvenated to defend the very same constitution which he ruthlessly raped not once but many times over - geez!!!

Published in Times of India - LONDON: President Pervez Musharraf has dismissed the possibility of being impeached for holding power “unconstitutionaly” if the opposition came to power in the February polls, insisting “I was elected according to the constitution of Pakistan.” Even as President Musharraf agreed that he could be removed from power by a two-thirds parliamentary majority, he made it clear that if the opposition formed the government after the crucial polls, they would be unable to impeach him on the ground that he held power unconstitutionally.

“I don’t care whether they like or not. I follow the constitution of Pakistan and I was elected according to the constitution of Pakistan. Anybody who says it was not done constitutionally is absolutely wrong,” Musharraf told Financial Times of Britain in an interview. The former army chief said he was prepared to work with a prime minister of the Pakistan People’s Party, whose leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated last month, or former premier Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. “I have no choice. According to the constitution, the president has certain powers, [but] the government is run by the prime minister of Pakistan,” he told the daily at the Davos World Economic Forum.

At the same time, the President slammed the retired generals who earlier this week demanded his resignation as he had lost the confidence of Pakistani people. “They are insignificant personalities,” Musharraf said, adding “Most of them are ones who served under me and I kicked them out … They are insignificant. I am not even bothered by them.” However, Musharraf acknowledged that opinion polls had shown a significant decline in public support for him. “I know that my popularity has reduced,” the president said, but argued that he could ride out the current political turmoil in the country.

True you are invincible and undisputed master of Pakistan. But do not forget the fate of your master Zia. He too had the same idea, but went straight to the hell-fighting US war and punished the people of Pakistan. As for as you are concerned by God you days are numbered.
These foolish remarks shows that you have lost your conscious and mind. You and your fellow generals have made hostage this nation, but till how long. How long you would detain the the Chief Justice of Pakistan,Iftikahr Mohammad Chaudhry. You had experienced his iron will at the GHQ,when He was summond at your behest. You and your ISI,MI and other thugs tried hard to terrorise him,but he remained committed to his cause. You YAZIDS have no other job,but to terrorise and punish. These tactics are short lived, useless and harmfull to your own casuse.
So never say that you are invincible. God is supreme he comes first. Your days are numbered.

1999 mein Benazir aur Nawaz Sharif ka popularity Graph zero tha, aap jaisey hi bohat sey log unko gaalia dey rahey they aur President Musharraf ko aap log welcome kar rahey they.

See what he has given to this nation
    1. Independent Media
    2. Freedom of Expression
    3. Economic Boom
    4. I.T. Boom
    5. Real Estate Boom
    6. Thousands of Jobs

I know my points can have counter arguments and there can be a lot of negative points of Mr. President but he is not a politian, we all make mistakes. If the seasoned politians can absolutely rape the country then you can’t ask much from those who were forced to stabilize the aftermath of Nawaz and Benazir. A crumbling country and economy which he stabilized.

Ipersonally wants him to leave his presidency too, but very a minute, what about the Pakistans advancement in defence technology. No no ,i dont trust PPP on that, I think Musharraf rather stay in power so we can progress in defence technology, i think I have to swallow this bitter pill as our CURE.

    Musharraf resigned…

Turn on any channel and you’ll see tickers and photage showing people distributing sweets and being happy about it… Is that the reality? NO, it is not. It is the saddest day in the history of this great nation… If he wasn’t the best choice for being the president, he was the lesser of the two evils to say the least, the other being the remaining politicians.

Politicians of the likes of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari will never think of the country, they’re only concerned about their bank balance… They’ve billions of dollars, pounds and euros stashed abroad, but they want more. We’ve all see how Nawaz and Benazir’s family lived when they were in ‘EXILE.’ Where did they get so much money. The answer is simple, it was when they were in power, twice.

Lookin at Musharraf’s tenure. I think his mistakes weren’t how came into power and stayed there but when he thought that may be it is in the best interests of the country to provide immunity to Benazir and Asif Zardari. It was his mistake not to rig the elections. He shud have hanged Nawaz Sharif when he had the chance. Though he said this a number of times that he is a strong person and will not bow out but these politicians got the better of him. They’re cunning people. He had no idea how these people can manipulate the minds of common man, the result of which we saw during elections.

His biggest mistake was his liberal view of the media. It was him who allowed hundreds of these channels. It was him who never shuts down a channel when they pointed fingers at him. It was him who never sacked anyone for calling him names. But this media took undue advantage of his niceness. If the media is so objective, I challenge them to bring to light how both Nawaz and Benazir cum Zardari increased their bank balances while in power. Media doesn’t have the balls. They’ll see for themselves. The moment they’ll try to point fingers at any of these so called leaders, they’ll hear from the government. It seems like the media and more specifically GEO had some sort of hidden agenda against Musharraf.

History will remember Musharraf in kind words. He was the leader of the truest sense. He was sincere and wanted to do good for the country but sadly, he wasn’t a politician.

Musharraf… Where you go, just know this. WE KNOW WHAT YOU WANTED FOR THIS COUNTRY AND FEW HUNDREDS CELEBRATING TODAY AREN’T REPRESENTATIVE OF WHAT THE COUNTRY THINKS OF YOU. We love you.
