President Pervez Musharraf had an unannounced meeting in Davos with Saman Ahsan, daughter of Aitzaz Ahsan, the incarcerated leader of lawyers, to persuade her father to give up opposition to his regime, it is learnt.

“Saman was not convinced with whatever views he put across,” said Mr Ahsan’ wife Bushra Aitzaz while, confirming that the president had had a one-to-one meeting with her daughter on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.

Saman, 30, works with the WEF in Geneva as project manager of the Council of 100 Leaders (C100), an initiative for dialogue between Muslims and the West. The meeting took place through Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the WEF, who is a friend of former prime minister Shaukat Aziz.

Mr Aziz attended the WEF where he met corporate leaders and spent substantial time with President Musharraf.

Mr Ahsan’s daughter is reported to have told her friends and colleagues after the meeting that the president had asked her to convince her father “not to come in my way”.

Mrs Aitzaz said the president had not given any message to her daughter.

She said the WEF executive chairman had raised the issues of democracy, removal and detention of independent judges and assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in his meeting with the president and mentioned that the father of “one of my forum members is still in detention in Pakistan”. This led to a meeting between the president and Saman.

She denied that Mr Ahsan’s permission had been sought for the meeting.

She said that during the meeting the president levelled allegations against the deposed chief justice of Pakistan and referred to the Supreme Court’s decision against a reference filed in this regard.

Musharraf has to leave his office illegally occupied by him and Aitezaz will never surrender as all the lawyers’ community is with him on this issue. Musharraf is a dictator who illegally involved the army in politics and caused the people to abuse the army. Pakistani army is one of the world’s best armies but Musharraf has involved it in a war against its own nation which is lowering its moral. Go Musharraf Go.

The coward dictator is now pleading to appease the great lawyer using every mean and channel to consolidate his position. He is mistaken-absolutely mistken. He wants to buy the person who is war with with injustice and cruelity of the generals. He wants to appease the person who does not compromise on his words and acts. He wants to buy the person who can not be puchased or bribed nor can be inimidated.
The dictator, wants to win the hero of Pakistan who has won hearts, souls and minds. He would go after such deals, dirty tactics and appeasements. Never General neverever!
You have examined his spirit and failed to subjugate him. You have lost the war-a war based on principles and ethics-justice .You are fighting a war you have already lost.
You can buy Muhallahs, coward and corrupt judges, but never Iftikhar Chaudhry and his colleagues. You hav the power to cheat your fellow general, but never cheat the Pakistani heroes. You have proved the ultimate successor of YAZID and Zia,who comewhat may used every mean to stay in power, but perished prematurely. Surely you have Sharifuddin Pizda and Qayyum and Q leagues on your side but rememeber these elements are the decendents of YAZID and Zias who are sucking blood from the vein of this nation.
You have tested the iron will of the great lawyer,so give up using these GERNERLS technique. You and your fellow generls can work of Dogar and Abbasi, but Iftikhar is the asset of this nation-a hero the nation can proud on him.
How long you would detain our heroes? How long you would intimidate them? How long you would send the Mir Jaffers to buy the heroes? You are off the view that the US is on your side-the generals are loyal to you,Q league and Mullahas are with u. You are completely mistaken. Look at the tragic inncident of your predecessor-fanatic ZIA,who perished with his fellow generals and went straight to the hell.
He too had the same thinking ,but his master UNCLE SAM ditched the deal and C-130 exploded in the air.
You generals have not learnt any single lesson from history. Your name has already been written in the black page of the nations history. You have lost this war. Your days are numbered.

I believe that Mr. Aitzaz is having a hard time with his family just to show us the way that we should not surrender to evil come what may.
May Allah show us the right path under the shadow of a right leader willing to take people with him instead of making personal benefits out of the position and democracy be restored in country in its true sense(Ameen)

This lawyer Mr. Aitezaz was he not a part of the govt once? in as much as I recollect he was a minister or secretary of Interior who during the period of rule is known to have deported foreign journalists from Pakistan as well as having many women killed in one of the towns of Sindh province while they were demonstrating peacefully against the govt.
At least two of his children enjoy fruits of freedom and democracy outside Pakistan in Europe & USA while the children of a common person in Pakistan cant live in peace due to the type of double-face politics Mr. Aitezaz is involved in.
It doesn’t look like that the type of western democracy works in Pakistan and they certainly need a leader who is firm in establishing the order, while Pres. Musharaf has done a lot for the nation over the last 7-8 years not to mention he kept his promises to quit army and adopt a civilian role and to hold elections.
What else do these people need? it seems that everyone in that country want to sidewind the rulers and take over the power of the country to acquire their aspirations of some hidden agenda and you cant have everyone ruling the country at the same time. If people of Pakistan were faithful and sincere to their nation these politicians would join hands with the existing govt and work for the better of their country.

    In my humble opinion
