Three Punjab University (PU) students claim they were assaulted by Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) members after Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid on the PU campus on Friday.
Rafiullah Awan, a fourth year physics student, told Dawn that after the prayers, he and two other students had been distributing flyers, which invited students to attend today’s protest at Nasser Bagh, outside the mosque when they were approached by a group of 20 or so IJT members.
Awan alleges that IJT members took their flyers and ripped them up, then warned the Rafiullah and his friends to leave the area.They left but returned a short while later and were then assaulted by six of IJT members, while 20 others looked on.
Rafiullah claims they wore IJT badges, and said he knew several of them by face as he had shared classes and lived with some of them over the course of his education at the PU.
Rafiullah said he would be approaching the university protest to lodge an official complaint and question why the IJT are allowed freedom to pursue political activities, but no other group is given the same privileges.
Nasirullah Goraya, IJT president, said he had no knowledge of the incident and was out of town. He said that stories maligning the IJT are often cooked up, and that the IJT would have no reason to engage in violent activities.

An orgnization inherently violet would definatly follow the foot step of scorpion who does have the tendency to bite. The fanatic thug force of JI is no remorse nor shown any repentence. They assaulated the great Imran Khan at the behast of Musharraf now repeating the same game. What does it mean! Muhallah militry alliance. The JI thugs are geting millions from the ISI to subjugate the students to defend the status quo. I believe that the conspiracy theory is very much alive. JI has a secret alliance with the ISI and other notorious agencies. They fought side by side with the ZIONISTS against the soviets in Afghanistan. They alliance is still intact very much.
This terrrorist wing of JI is the brain child of US administration and ZIONITS. This is pathetic!Untill and unless GENERALS and MUHALLAHS are together this venom has no end.

the people who are saying that JI is the fellow of mushraf.they don’t know the reality.infact america is still afraid of JIdue its patience and love for islam.who says people of JI has no love for Islam.they ara not angals but human beings.and humans are fukll of mistakes.we expect that IJT can not make errors in her discions.jamiat is made by people just like you.what’s wrong with anti jamiat.its actuall victory for jamiat that her name has reached to those peoplethat did not know her.see on your actions before saying to otherrs.every wise person knows that all is done by agencies on the behalf of america.your resistance cannevar stop the missin of jamiat.we are not waiting for respect in worldly life but want to get happiness and respect in the life hareafter.
