Retired Army generals and ex-servicemen created history on Tuesday when they staged the first-ever protest near the General Headquarters (GHQ) against the ëunconstitutional roleí of their colleague, Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and called for his court martial.
They chanted ‘go Musharraf go’ slogans and demanded his immediate resignation. They accused him of damaging the Kashmir cause and called for an inquiry into the Kargil war.
Former Army chief, Gen (retd) Mirza Aslam Beg said the militants would again switch on to occupied Kashmir once they managed the eviction of US and its allied countries forces from Afghanistan and that, he said, would take place very soon.
He said the Jihadi forces were fighting hard with the Pakistan Army in tribal areas and elsewhere and it was high time for the government to initiate a dialogue with them, the way US was planning to do in Afghanistan with the Taliban.
Lt-Gen (retd) Faiz Ali Chishti termed the previous parliament ëdead assembliesí which elected Musharraf as President and said they considered him an ‘unconstitutional ruler’.
Over 200 ex-servicemen participated in the demonstration to express solidarity with the Kashmiris on the Kashmir Day and to demand President Musharraf’s resignation.
Unlike other places, there was no deployment of security forces as only two policemen could be seen there, acknowledging the ex-servicemenís right to protest, which started from a local five star hotel and ended in front of the Army’s central library, hardly fifty yards behind the GHQ gate.
The lead protesters included retired generals Ali Quli Khan, Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani, Salim Haider, Mirza Aslam Beg, Faiz Ali Chishti, Asad Durrani and former bureaucrat Roedad Khan.
Before staging the protest, a gathering was held in the nearby local hotel, which was addressed by speakers who condemned Musharraf’s policies on Kashmir and termed his decision to set aside the UN resolutions on Kashmir a blunder.
Contrary to last Thursday’s gathering, there were no prominent ex-servicemen from the air force or the navy.
Lt-Gen (retd) Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani said the ex-servicemen did not want humiliation of Musharraf but he must also feel pity for the countrymen for the situation he had brought to Pakistan and must step down forthwith.
He said if the ex-servicemen were ëgood for nothingí for being out of uniform, the same logic also applied to all retired generals.
Lt-Gen (retd) Hamid Gul, Lt-Gen (retd) Asad Durrani and Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum also spoke on the occasion.

What a place this is where Ayubs,Yahyas Zias,Begs,Chishtis,Musharrafs decieds to hang the elected PMs or send them in exile. This is the place where the plan of st.depts and Kargil plans were exectuted. This is the place where the plan to form Taliban and other meriless jihahis,mericaries were nurtured and armed. This is the palce of evils and devils-satans. Where the big satan Unlce Sam directs the CAOS to avert the Afghan policy and as a result U turn was taken. This is place where fanatic ZIA sided with the US ,ZIONISTS and WHABHIS and statred a bloody war in Afghanistan. This is the place of killers,assassins,murderers,butchers,conspirators,ploters,Zionist agentS,US agents and the enemies of Pakistan live. The players who believe in thugism and danadais. Generals have no religion;they have only one religion and that is to wreack havoc and send suicide bombers to target the civil soceity,judges,scuttle media and insult the journalists.

This is the palce where the generals plan to to attack the supreme court building and abduct the judges and innocent people. This the place where Martial Law cum Emergency was planned. The final approval was given by the State Department;probally Ms Condi. This is the place of of those where conscious must be shunned . This is not the place for intellectuels,lawyers,teachers,professors and judges. But the palce of the people beyond state. The place where the exectution of BB was planned and her brother Mortaza too is the victim of the same palce. May God give their souls in peace and tranquil.
The people who are protesting outside the GHQ,have nothing to do with the Kashmirs,but dollars are dear to them. Sucking human blood is their top priority. They have no grudge with Musharraf nor any difference,but are ruuning short of dollars. They do not believe in remorse and repenting….no they would never do that.
What kind protest this was? Usurpers are making fun with the usurper.Wov what a great drama they staged. Maravellous…Shading crocodilde tears….no remorse…
Asghar Khan has no remorse for his deeds. He has no remorse the conspiracy he hatched agaist the elected PM. Chishti,the agent and right hand of killer ZIA has no remorse…shading crocodile tears….Drama…. drama…
Peace and GHQ are uncopatable with each other. Peace has long before left the premises of GHQ….since the inception of Pakistan.
So the usurpers and cospirators play a good drama. Only french like revolution can destory the invincible fort of GHQ. The generals can be punished by the revolutioneries…. That time would come soon… Inshallah… By God willing it will uproot the menace of all evil exist in GHQ.

These Generals are the real enemies of our Country, they did 1971 and another 1971 will happen if they are not stopped by force!!!

While I really dis-like the army, but I think this would be unfair to blame the 1971 wholly on the generals. In my opinion, the blame does also go on the ZA Bhutto.
