Around 60-80% of the people of Pakistan are demanding the “Islami Nizam”. These figures are not produced only by a local journalist but also from many international research groups. Then where is the democracy? Why can’t their voices be heard? Where are those people that can understand the cause of instability in my country? Where are the democrats? Where are the landlords? Where are the international human rights groups?

Pakistan’s constitution establishes an Islamic system of governance, although we have never truly lived up to the ideals of the constitution.
If you read it, both in its text and its intent, it seeks to mould a modern system of governance based on 3 key principles: Islam, democracy and welfare.
So those of us who are fighting for the suprmacy of the constitution are fighting for the supremacy of a system which upholds Islam as its supreme ideal. Conversely, those of us who long for an Islamic system in Pakistan should join the strugghle for constitutional supremacy.
There is no other way to establishing an Islamic system than to do so through a constituion. Our constitution makes several strides towards that. While more such strides need to be taken, they can only be taken once the constituional process is resumed.

we are indeed very lucky to be muslims, cuz ppl in the west normally make their theories, implement them and have to wait for years, centuries or more to find out if it was the right way to live OR not?but muslims are blessed with the sharia:Quran and Ahadis to know the right way without making any worthless efforts and wasting lifetimes to find out the code of conduct.but unfortunately enough,we don’t bother to..
the removal of hadis regarding jihad from course books, liberating the media to show vulgarity and nudity, that used to be sensored earlier on were some of the steps..
and ppl who condone this and surrender before the western ways of life are promoted as “moderates” in the freaking concept of “enlightened moderation” and those who argue are labelled as terrorists and fundamentalists.but still the research shows a substantial number of people are the so called “fundamentalists” because they know whats best for them and the country,is in itself the rejection of the “moderate” and his pathetic theories of moderation which created an unhealthy polarization in this society.

Abu Fahd, when you write non sense such as this, please try to give some source as to where you found this staggering no. of 60-80% of Pakistani people wanting an Islami-nizam. There hasnt been any such survey. If there has, please do post the evidence for all to see. Dont just try to state a fact without any real evidence.

Muneeba…. you’re an idiot. Islam is wrong. Muhammad was a pedophile. He was also a murderer who killed Asma Bint Marwan. God doesn’t exist. Every religious person is an idiot. You are willfully blind. I’m so thankful I have the mental capacity to realize the fallacy of Islam.
