For what its worth, Bilal Musharraf the Vice President of ePlanet Ventures and the son of General (r) Pervaiz Musharraf, is seen negotiating a deal with Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Companies. It is just a normal business deal but the question that remains is What does the Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia have to do in all this?
Can we speculate that these are the last minute favors being cashed in by Pervaiz Musharraf before he is truly pushed out of office and into the awaiting millions of dollars of accumulated wealth and business ventures which he has strategically located outside Pakistan in the last nine years of his rule.

To Editor: aren’t we assuming a lot?… who knows if the Ambassador was present because the subject matter of the meeting would have been very beneficial to Pakistan, perhaps attracting investment into the country and creating jobs?…. after all the British Ambassador would be only to happy to assist leading private British companies to sell products to Gulf investors? why not the Pakistan Ambassador? my point is that we should celebrate a Pakistani success story like ePlanet, so that there are many more ePlanet’s, and Pakistan can become a big success, Insha’Allah!

Indeed, this kind of speculation is completely redundant. The paralysis of the Pakistani national psyche is the result of so much attention being paid to what is probably a simple buisness presentation, instead of concentrating upon the real issues facing Pakistan.

WHAT ELSE IS AN AMBASSADOR SUPPOSED TO DO ? ALL AMBASSADORS ARE RECQUIRED TO PURSUE THE BUISNESS INTERESTS OF THE COUNTRY THEY REPRESENT. THEY ARE PAID TO DO SO.

This company is NOT a Pakistani Success story. It doesn’t even have a branch in Pakistan (it does have in New Delhi !!)

For optimits:
I don’t believe any of the Fortune 500 companies have offices in Pakistan . Does that mean they don’t invest in Pakistan? Have any of you even bothered to contact e-planet Ventures and ask them what this meeting was about? If you are really concerned, go to their webite and contact them…Also, if you are comparing, the comparison includes Hussain Nawaz Sharif, Monis Elahi, newly made Bilawal Zardari, Omar Ayub and many more idiots..

To the defenders of the dictators son:
The point here is not what Bilal and Asad Jamal are doing in the meeting it is what His Excellency is doing sitting like an idiot. Eplanet ventures is a silicon valley based firm with offices in several countries including INDIA, but they don’t have a presense in Pakistan, The ambassador has no business being there, for that matter the meeting would have been hard to arrange without the presidents help, the fact the Bilal Musharraf is working for eplanet is that he gets to open lots of doors for Asad Jamal by being the president’s son.
I have been an expat for over 15 years the pressence of Ambassadors in business deals of companies based in america is not part of their official duties, I know numerous businessmen and enterprenuers who don’t have the privalage of their countries ambassador sitting like a lame duck in their meeting to “facilitate” them. Try going to any Pakistani Embassy abroad for a problem without a “PAWA” and see what kind of a protocol you get. Then come here and comment about the presidents son doing good for the country.

How do you know the project they are discussing doesn’t concern Pakistan? What if it concerns Pakistan? Can you please check with the Embassy? Also, if the Ambassadors were not present in meetings concerning Pakistan in other countries, maybe they should begin to attend these meetings? Don’t you think the Ambassadors should do more in other countries to create opportunities for Pakistan or they just sit aroud in the Embassies trying to figure out how they can milk the official priviliges they get with the Ambassadorship..This is stupid thinking..Obviously if it’s a personal deal, then the Ambassador’s presense is unreasonable. But, if the project concerns Pakistan, his a*s better be there….I am not concerned so i am not contacting the Embassy or Eplanet, but if somebody is, please contact them both and get the facts before going on a tirade against Asad Jamal and mini Mush (Asad is a very sensible and smart expat, i don’t know much about mini Much)….

we call our self pakistani but we never step back to say anything against pakistan. you people are very concerning about why eplanet dont have office in pakistan, ask this question from yourself..coz we never support our people… asad is a great man and he also invest in naseeb networks.. who operates the website of jobs i.e www.roozee.com.pk.. Asad has invested in… he also plan to invest in matrimonial site. and also planning to support technical people to support their ideas around the world… he had a meeting with NUST students for this purpose… so stop all these nonsense and we should support these great persons.
