ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s security forces have stopped the activity of three pro-Talib radio stations broadcasting in the range of ultra short waves, Russia’s Itar-Tas news agency reported Saturday quoting the army press service as saying on Saturday.
An operation to capture and disassemble the radio stations was conducted in the Swat region in the Northwestern border province. Seven people were arrested.
Soldiers also discovered a big amount of firearms, propaganda materials and audio recordings of leaders of militants.
The operation was conduced after the radio stations broadcasted a record of a speech of leader of local pro-Talib detachments Maulan Fazlullah who is on the wanted list.
