PESHAWAR: Pakistan Day was celebrated issued on Sunday with national fervour and enthusiasm in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and cantonment areas in the province.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, tribesmen from all walks of life joined the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and the Political Administration (PA) for Pakistan Day celebrations in all the major towns of the Tribal Areas, including Wana and Miranshah.
Special duas were offered at mosques across the province for peace, prosperity and solidarity in the motherland. The Pakistan Army also organised a free medical camp at Gurbaz in North Waziristan Agency. Specialist doctors of the Army Medical Corps (AMC) at the camp examined patients and provided free medicines worth thousands of rupees to them.
To mark the day and pay homage to old guards, a veterans’ get-together has also been planned at Peshawar Garrison Officers Mess, where Brigadier (R) Toor Gul will be the chief guest.
In Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency, Pakistan Day was celebrated in a grand way. The national flag was hoisted on all public buildings; Quran Khawani was held; and special duas were offered in all mosques soon after daybreak.
Food was distributed among prisoners in Headquarters Jail at Bajaur Levies Line. PA officials attended the Quran Khawani and the Levies darbar. PA officials also visited Khar Jail and assured the prisoners that their problems would be solved.
