LAHORE: Muhammad Qasim and Muhammad Rasool put up a memorable performance as Pakistan defeated Nepal 2-0 in the second match to draw the two-match series 1-1 in Pokhara, Nepal. The Kaski District Football Association, in association with All Nepal Football Association, hosted the first-ever series between the two nations at the picturesque Pokhara Stadium, 198-km west of Kathmandu. The two-match friendly series was part of the teams’ preparation for the upcoming AFC Challenge Cup and SAFF Championship. Both Pakistan and Nepal will also face each other in Group-A clash of SAFF Championship on June 7, 2008 in Maldives.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) president Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has congratulated the Pakistan national team members on their spirited performance against Nepal in the second match. He has congratulated skipper Muhammad Essa, vice captain Zahid Hameed, Irfan Khan Niazi (manager), Akhtar Mohiuddin (head coach), Gohar Zaman (coach), Noman Ibrahim (goalkeeper coach), Dr Kamran Mehdi (physiotherapist).
