Pakistan Cricket Board sent a legal notice to Shoaib Akhtar for his statements he made during an interview given to a private local channel Express News.Shoaib, in his interview alleged that Nasim Ashraf had pressurized him for and tried to extort a commission from Indian Premier league contract.
In response o the aforesaid false utterances Akhtar called upon to immediately do the following:
1. Retract earlier statements against Nasim Ashraf in the same mode and manner in which they were made.
2. Tender an unconditional apology.
3. Pay an amount of Rs. 10 crore for defaming Nasim Ashraf personally and another Rs. 10 crore for sullying the name of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Team.
4. Restrain yoursel from repeating or making any further defamatory comments against Nasim Ashraf or any member of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
If Shoaib Akhtar fail to strictly and immediately comply with the above acts then Nasim Ashraf reserves his and the Board’s rights to avail any and all regal remedies, under the laws of Pakistan.
According to the advisory it has been claimed that Shoaib Akhtar’s defamatory conduct has grievously damaged Nasim Ashraf reputation and furthermore the repute of the Pakistan Cricket Team. Needless to re-iterate this allegation too is utterly false and is vehemently denied. Moreover, the allegations not only being the game of cricket into disrepute but also tarnish the national honor and reputation domestically as well as internationally.
Advisory further said that it also needs to be iterated on record that Shoaib Akhtar has even previously has a history of indiscipline and even prior to the most recent disciplinary action Shoaib Akhtar were on strict probation for physically assaulting a team-mate and Pakistan Cricket Board have always tried to accommodate Shoaib Akhtar and Nasim Ashraf was initially circumspect about issuing a Legal Notice personally to a Pakistani Cricketer, however Shoaib Akhar’s allegations and indiscipline are so outrageous and utterly damaging to the National Honor and his reputation so that Nasim Ashraf is now constrained to issue Shoaib Akhtar with the instant Legal Notice.
