Pakistani paceman Shoaib Akhtar says he was offered money to under-perform in games in South Africa and India but rejected them for the sake of his country.
Shoaib has been banned for five years by the Pakistan Cricket Board for disciplinary reasons but is planning an appeal.
He said: ‘This sort of ban has not been enforced anywhere on any cricketer.
‘Players who betrayed their country escaped without such punishment. Why am I being victimised?’

The punishment he got is too much.
He should be banned for six month’s and fined 50 lakhs. That will be fair.
