With the settling of the new Pakistani government in Islamabad the peace process between Pakistan and India will be reopened once again.
The process had come to a halt last year when Pakistan had entered into a chaotic phase. According to the foreign office Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the foreign minister will visit Pakistan on 21st May to begin the 5th round of the peace process between the two countries. However, the visit of the Foreign minister will be preceded by the visit of Shiv Shankar Menon, the foreign secretary on 20th May.
The recent chaos that occurred in Pakistan had buried the fact that both the countries have benefited from the earlier round of peace process. At present both the countries have opened up different trade interactions. Besides, at present direct flights are available between Islamabad and Delhi. Apart from this, trucks from both the countries now regularly cross the Wagah border. This can be considered as a revolution in the history of trade between the two countries. Besides, trade, Indian movies are now being shown in the theatres in Pakistan. And most importantly last week the release of the first Pakistani film “Khuda ke Liye” in India.
