ISLAMABAD: European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana arrived in Pakistan on Monday to hold talks with new government leaders following February elections, officials said.
Solana arrived from Afghanistan’s capital Kabul where he met President Hamid Karzai and other government officials, and was due to hold talks with the head of a NATO-military force.
“He has arrived in Islamabad and he will hold meetings with the president, prime minister and political parties’ leaders tomorrow (Tuesday),” his spokeswoman Cristina Gallach told media.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry also confirmed the meetings.
