(AGI) - ISLAMABAD, 28 April. - The ‘gas diplomacy’ which was proposed by Mahmud Ahmadinejad has started to bear bear fruits: Pakistan has given the go ahead to the building of a pipeline which will connect Iran and India. The Iranian president visited Islamabad to organize a deal for another pipeline along the Karakoum motorway which will supply India. Ahmadinejad met with the Pakistani leader Pervez Musharraf with whome he organized the details of the deal which will be put into action as soon as possible in Tehran. “The two leaders have underlined that the pipeline will promote peace and friendship ” said Shah Mehmud Qureshi, the foreign minister of Iran. The project has been discussed for years, but only after India and Pakistan started a peace process did it start to solidify. In the first stage the pipeline will carry 60 million metres cubed.
