Amitabh Bachchan-starrer `Bhootnath’ hit the theatres in Pakistan the same day as its global release on May nine.

It was passed by the Pakistan Censor Board in its original version without any cuts. Eros International distributed the film across all major cities of the neighbouring country, including Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faislabad, Gujaranwala and Hyderabad, in association with Pakistan-based Evernew Group and HKC Entertainment.

Sajjad Gul, Chairman and CEO Evernew group, in a statement here said: “Bollywood films have always had a big market in Pakistan. Pakistanis are absolutely ecstatic to have Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan on big screen in Pakistan.”

Pranab Kapadia, President-Distribution, Eros International said: “Market for Bollywood films in Pakistan has huge potential. `Bhootnath’ is the ideal film for our launch as it stars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, who have a great fan following in the neighbouring country.”

“Bhootnath is the first among many in our release pipeline and we look forward to working with Evernew Group and HKC Entertainment to release more films in Pakistan,” Kapadia said.
