Murtaza Solangi, a journalist currently attached with the Voice of America (VOA) in Washington, will be the new Director General (DG) of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), sources in the Establishment Division told The News.
A summary for the appointment of Solangi as the DG Radio Pakistan has been moved by the Ministry of Information to the Prime Minister Secretariat through the Establishment Division.
Solangi confirmed that he would be taking up the new appointment in two to three weeks.
Before Solangi, senior officer of Information Group Javed Akhtar was serving as the DG PBC. Akhtar was appointed as press secretary to the prime minister a few days back in place of another senior Information Group officer Shabbir Anwar. Shabbir has been sent to the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).
