Karachi (PTI): The entire Asian Cricket Council would be in Pakistan when it organises the 25th anniversary celebrations of the ACC during the Asia Cup from June 24 to July 6.

A senior official of the board, who attended the Executive Council meeting of the ACC in Colombo, said ICC members would also be invited for the celebrations during the tourney to be played here and in Lahore.

“On the occasion we will give away special awards to leading players and also to an administrator from each member country of the ACC for his contribution to the game,” the official said.

He said a special committee would pick these players and officials and the associate members of the ACC will also be involved in the process.

“It will be an honour for Pakistan to host the silver jubilee AGM of the ACC and also the Asia Cup which is being played after a long time.

“The good thing is our security plan for the tournament was approved by the ACC council and India and Sri Lanka have confirmed they would send their best teams for the event,” the official said.
