Bombomg kills three children

Police say a bomb hit a rail track in southwestern Pakistan killing two children.
Police spokesman Rehmatullah Niazi said the blast happened in the suburbs of Quetta early Thursday. He said trains between the city and Karachi were suspended for several hours until a segment of track was repaired.

He said the victims were an 11-year-old girl and her 9-year-old brother.

Niazi blamed “anti-state elements” — a reference to ethnic Baluch nationalists waging a low-level guerrilla war to demand more autonomy and a greater share of resources in impoverished Baluchistan province.
