Asia Cup: Pakistan wins toss, elects to bat first against Hong Kong

Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik won the toss Tuesday and opted to bat first against Hong Kong in the opening Group A match of the Asia Cup limited overs cricket tournament at National Stadium.

Pakistan fielded its first choice XI and included three fast bowlers — Umar Gul, Sohail Tanvir and Rao Iftikhar.

Unfancied Hong Kong is playing only for the second time in the Asia Cup.

Hong Kong: Tabarak Dar (captain), Courtney Kruger, Afzaal Haider, Butt Hussain, Najeeb Amar, Shkawat Ali, Zain Abbaz, Nadeem Ahmed, Irfan Ahmed, Jamie Atkinson, Moner Ahmed.

Umpires: Tony Hill, New Zealand, and Brian Jerling, South Africa.
