The International Cricket Council has indicated it could pull September’s Champions Trophy out of Pakistan because of safety concerns.
A suicide blast killed 19 people in the capital Islamabad yesterday, and players from Australia, New Zealand and England have expressed concerns about the tournament.
Sri Lanka is the designated alternative venue but is also facing renewed violence between Tamil Tiger rebels and government troops.
South Africa has been touted as another possible replacement.
The Pakistan Cricket Board remains confident the tournament will go ahead.
