This was the worst case scenario post Musharraf. A Mr 10% with absolute authority. There is nothing to stop him from further strengthening his “constitutional” powers and fall into the same trap that Zulfiqar Bhutto did. The only route for his removal will be for the Army to step in, and then the whole cycle will repeat itself. Nothing is happening to break the cycle of power struggle that has taken place in this God cursed country since is creation.

Pakistan has been cursed since its inception, with our Quid-E-Azam feeling the pinch from the start of being surrounded by selfish or incompetent muslim feudals, a stark comparison to seasoned Congress politicians. By an army that was never under his control and then fighting against a terminal disease. His death was a huge blow to Pakistan, as he was the few, if not the only one, who understood what democracy means and what role institutions need to play (he had remarked fairly early to a group of army men to stay out of politics as it was not their concern to get into political matters).

The Mirza’s, Ayub, Yahya, Bhutto, Zia, NS, BB & Musharraf have all been one in the same thing. Owners of short sighted mindsets, who have led the population of 150+ million to a path where the society itself has been corrupted. Corruption now spans across social segments and classes; we’ve all been brainwashed to go for quick money, to be tribal and protect our own even if it means sacrificing our principles and to act in haste.

With Zardari planning to take on presidency, with 58 2b, he will turn this country into a presidential country and screw us over. I’d like to thank Musharraf for this. Had he not been in engaging in fortifying his own powers rather than “building democratic institutions”, we would not be in this situation of individuals becoming greater than what they are mandated to do.

Musharraf, I hope you rot in hell! You are to blame for what this country has faced in the past few years and what it is about to endure.

Zardari, I never had any hope from you. You are free what you wish. However be prepared to meet the same fate as Bhutto.

Jialla’s, nothing to say to you. If you had any brains, you wouldnt be a jialla.

MQM, you’ll get killed like ants once PPP is able to consolidate its powers. History does repeat itself. Suckers!

Zardar is greater than any leader even Bhutto. He is like Mandela and Gandhi. He is loved by the people of pakistan, Sindh. I am in naudero and i cannot tell you how much people of this town love Asif Zardari. He is the jewel of their hearts and mind. They know and sure that he will make people in better life tomorrow. many satan worshippers hate him but this is all right they cannot help. Tomorrow pakistan people will rise from this propoganda and happiness will be found in all homes of poor people . this makes rich people very angry and jealous so they make jolly fun by abusing Zardari. tickle tickle tickle each other by gali gloach of zardari. but Zaradari like great people do not mind
My friend from PPP thinks he is greater than Khomeini and Mao Zse Tung. I think this too much. But he is one great man of this century. You will agree with me. Alone he has bring democracy to Pakistan

  • 5 pakistani123 // Aug 30, 2008 at 1:17 pm

@Sardar. My prayers go out for you. You are like a beetle on a plastic globe. To you that is your entire universe. I hope you a long life, long enough to see that all your foolish hopes of zardari are misplaced and that you remember this moment when you start suffering the consequences along with the whole nation. And when that does happen, I hope you find yourself a piece of rope and a decent fan to do the “right thing”

Its Zardari’s turn now…..oour leaders are getting claver now one by one and one allow chance to each other to ristrict competition. May God bless us now ppl like ZARDARI will be the presidient of our country Mr 10%.

  • 9 Kabool // Aug 31, 2008 at 1:22 pm

May I say something more mature and serious and perhaps boring. Zardari is a candidate for presidentship also besides all the things said about him above.

The Parliament has to choose a president for the country. This man will be the president for five years. There are only three real options in my humble opinion
    1. A president who is from the same party which forms the government.
    2. A president who is hostile to the party which is in government
    3. A president who has been agreed upon by consensus by all the parties represented in the parliament and carries a general goodwill of the people.
The second option can only be a joke of the parliamentary system of democracy till such time as the 17th ammendment has not been done away and 73 constitution restored in its original shape by the parliament. And there may be road blocks in that which may not be visible now.
It is the third option which is the basic objection to Mr. Zardari as the president. But i think this very simplistic interpretation of the political reality. Mr Zardari is certainly the choice of the party in power and from their point of view the best option considering the Farooq Leghari (Farooq Bhai) experiance. But besides that he is the closest to a consensual candidate under the prevailing circumstances. Three parties to the coalition support his candidacy. The Q league by enthusiastically participating in the process has indirectly given support to the future president Zardari

The country has no option but Zardari. Assuming that the next election will be held after five years it will guarantee the best performance by the coolition government as they will not have the excuse of a hostile president or incomplete tenure to be incompetent.

  • 10 pakistani123 // Aug 31, 2008 at 1:56 pm

@Kabool. Your arguments are well put but since your premises are incomplete, your conclusion is wrong. The reason why we have the presidency is to ensure that there is a check and balance of power.
It is true that Pakistanis have the worst memory. We forget all lessons learnt. The lesson of “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely!” too has fallen on deaf ears.
Once Zardari becomes the president, he will in essence be the new “mushi” or “ayub”. We have to ask ourselves what stops him from becoming the next Husni Mubarik, Saddam Hussain, Musharraf, Ziaulhaq, Marcos and all other dictators around the world (a lot of these were not army men, but held absolute powers). Thats the reason why a president must be neutral and not a party member!

I fear if the educated lot fails to understand this, then we are definitely screwed as we are ruled by the ignorants and the uneducated.

    naitazi .com

This is in responce to the articles that are written in this site regarding one of the political party of this country …the PPP [ Pakistan Pepople Party ]

as i see it that there are many people who are not familiar with some historic events that took place in the 1970s ..when the PPP leadership at that time won the elections in West Pakistan and the Awami National Party [ ANP] won the majority in the East Pakistan ….as per according to democratic demands the party that has the most seats in the country was suppose to become the government, but at that time, the PPP under the leadership of Mr: Zulifkhar Ali Bhutto said to the leadership of the Awami National Party [ ANP ]……they will not abide by the democratic rules and will not invite the ANP to form the government in Islamabad …he actually said to them ” udhar tum … idhar hum ” , so began the dis-intigaration of the nation as one unite was broken and so came into being the new nation of Bangladesh ….where was once East Pakistan ..This is not of my own invention ..this is history ..

the PPP has been reponsible to the breaking off of the eastern wing of this nation… just to be in power , the PPP prefered to let the eastern wing go on its own and become an independent state of Bangladesh….

i would like to ask all those who are in support of the PPP today have you all forgotten this important historic event that took place not that so long time ago, …even today they will just write off this country if you all are not going to make the right decision.

just another small remainder to all my country men…the slogan of ” roti , kaprah aur makan ” was the first slogan of the PPP at that time in the 70s…which is still yet to be fullfilled by the PPP …..is there a single person in this country that will come out and say that the PPP have given them the ”roti kaprah aur makan”..i dont think there is anyone .

today again in the name of the same slogans and some new ones, the same PPP is trying to come into the government and into the presidency….will you want that to happen .

see that today …are you really empowered ?? do you have a say in the day to day work of the government ?? do your representives to the national assembly are really doing the job that you want them to do ??

these are some questions that have to be looked into by you all today ….and see if your government is answerable to you or not ….

today as we speak …we as a nation face many real dangers and difficulties ….i dont need to name them you are quite familier with what is going on around you….

is the government doing anything to control the crisis that is in this country today …inflation is rampant and riseing by the day …food and basic utility is going out of the common mans reach … industry is on the verge of collapse due to the power shortages, frequent breakdowns and black outs…

i will certainly not ask you to believe what i have just written but will only want one favour from my fellow countrymen and that is ….look around you today and see for yourself and be the judge …to the doings of todays government …

God bless Pakistan and may Allah have mercy on us all ..

IN a colonised country the checks and balances are from the top by an appointee of the imperial power but in a free country the checks and balances are from the bottom by the people

  • 13 Cabool // Sep 4, 2008 at 10:15 am

    @ pakistani 123

I agree with you that the nation is trying to find a role for a peoples president who replaces the Governor generals and military presidents of the past who now lie in lonely graves shunned by the people.

  • 14 readinglord // Sep 6, 2008 at 6:25 am

Ask about him from Mumtaz Bhutto. According to him Zardari is bent upon vanquishing the Bhutto family. It appears he is well-set now to do so, if Mumtaz’s perceptions are realistic.

Someone tell me why Musharaf called in all these people on the spotlight in the name of fresh democracy after ruling for like 10years. He even sent his top prosecutors to europe on public funds to drop all corruption case despite a significant evidence…the answer is clear..finally he accepted bribe as well. We are all sitting as audience whilst these people playing topi drama on us.
I like to add one thing my m8s. A philosopher once said that in our lives we all fight wars from countries to personal levels. All wars are won on the basis of wealth. The wealthier you are the more probable you are to win the war. But there is one war which is won on the basis against it. Its the war when you are on a death bed Inha lilahee ina alihee rajahoon. This wealth wont help you there. 60yrs average life expectancy is a short time. Today all this people who cannot afford to eat a plain roti in the night will hold people like Zardari from the neck and as muslims we believe in judgement day. Anyone who does not should not be the president of Pakistan.

  • 19 Shah // Sep 9, 2008 at 12:30 pm

Its a true story of mine, 1963 I passed my matric exam. My father died in 1948, My mother as very poor lady helped me to go to school and get my education, at that time Pakistan was ruled by the militry raj Ayoob khan the member of TheMuslim leage. I had no money to go to college for ferther education, si worked in the evening hours and in the day time i carried my study with very bad circumstanses. At that time were the rich people the leaders of this country, 1965 the war with India started and the wealthy people ran away from Pakistan even they send their famlies abroad and the poor sufferd, and even my family of 4 sufferd very badly, after the war Mr. Zulfikar Ali Bhuto, a very rich man came on the screen as a foreign minister of Pakistan, he started his own political party named Pakistan people Party. He was a genius man., good speaker and stood up against the militry dectator. His big slogan was Roti Kapra and Makaan. I as a student i join the PPP, we worked day and night for the party. The party won the Election and, many rich people came in the government as a ministers. After my graduation i went to my area PPP leader
sheik Rashid ask for help to get a job, but no response I went every where, but with zero answer, I resignd the PPP and left my country with 1000 rupees in my pocket suffering pain in my heart with out my poor mother and the other family members. Pakistan is made for rich people and after 38 years abroad I mis my country, and some time i cry when i see so many others like me still suffering the same and living a misserable life, all the elite people are the houner of this country. It is just like crying before the stonegod getting no answer. It is always the nation suffer not the leaders. We are the barking dogs and they are the hunting lords.Pakistan needs a RED REVULATION, OTHER WISE ITS AN OLD STORY AND IT WILLSTAY THE SAME .oNLY THE GOD CAN HELP, WE ARE LOSING THE GRIP OF OUR COUNTRY, IT HEARTS TO ALL OF US, SPECIALY THE POOR CLASS AND THE MIDDLE CLASS. GOD SAFE MY COUNTRY AND GOD BLESS PAKISTAN.

  • 20 Iftikhar // Sep 9, 2008 at 1:48 pm

The misfortune of this country is that there are too many good for nothing brain dead poor human beings in this country. This in itself is not bad beacuse they make good labourers and serfs but the problems is that these good for thing people are constantly demanding a life that they do not desrve and we the rich cannot afford to give them. They are jealous, greedy bastards who want to take away the good life from those to whom Allah has provided the good life. So we have to produce leaders again and again who tell the stupid poor that they will take everything away from the rich and give it to the poor.
We the rich have been here since the Pharaos and the stupid poor have also been here since than and we remain rich and they remain poor. Why ? Because we are clever and they are stupid

  • 21 Zuhair // Sep 9, 2008 at 2:22 pm

Huh!! Who would have ever thought this man will be incharge of our nation? This is the worst that could have happened to our country. A man who does not give nay value to his words and promises. How on earth can he represent a nation of 170 million people? Lets assume he was never a corrupt man and never did a single wrong thing but if a man can turn away with his own words merely by saying that those were just political statements, we need to stop. Simple is his mission, to sell whatever strategic assets left to USA and get whatever litle commission he can.

  • 22 Shah // Sep 10, 2008 at 1:45 am

  • 24 Zuhair // Sep 10, 2008 at 1:14 pm

Makhdoom Sahab how innocent of you. I pity such people. It is not a Zardari EHSAAN on PAkistan. Those slogans would not have damaged pakistan and we would not have been sepearated. We all know those people were chanting at the spur of the moment and out of utter emotions.

Fact of the matter is that Zardari has time and again proved to be a liar and one who cant keep his words ture. Even yesterday, at the ress conference, he was asked so many times about pakistan’s reaction to US strikes in Pakistan. He got away with all those questions and did not answer a single question satisfactorily. Having Karzai alongside him was also a signal that Pakistan is to continue to be US saleves.

  • 25 Rafay H. Jokhio // Sep 18, 2008 at 6:25 pm

@Rafay. Dont kid yourself on 50% ppp supporters in pakistan. Most jiala’s are on payroll and ppp isnt rich enough to pay out 49% of the population (even if sells our waziristan, kashmir and even the ocean rights).

  • 28 Zuhair // Sep 19, 2008 at 10:42 am

I bet they are not more than 7% - 8%. What a shame for the nation. and that chap Zardari has continued his habit of doing away with promises.

He said months back that the first thing the president will do will be the removal of 582b!!! Forget it now!! he also said the president would first pay a visit to China, but ala, he straighaway went to his mecca. Pity my nation

  • 29 mrs mansoor // Sep 26, 2008 at 2:34 am

my views exactly zuhair!this zardari guy is disgusting, but so are all the ghag currupt politions like nwaz, gillani, musharaf and all pp and n league people, for instance that stupid big mouth salman taseer, shit comes out of his mouth,

  • 30 Zuhair // Sep 29, 2008 at 8:32 am

Salman Taseer is crap, he is actually demented. I dont really take much stock in such people. Why even bother about such people. hHe is only there because he visited Zardari twice when he was jailed.

And how desperate is our president to hug Sara Palin, that is disgusting

  • 31 Asif Ali Zardari // Sep 29, 2008 at 4:02 pm

mr. zuhair …..whats wrong if i wanted to hug Sarah Palin ? you know that i have lost my dear wife in the bomb blast last year and i am all alone now …..i dont see anything wrong in huging Sarah jee .

But by the way why are you so jealous ?

you want to hug her …..?? Good , go ahead and hug her , i wont mind .

  • 33 Zuhair // Sep 30, 2008 at 8:40 am

Open minded my foot. He was not on a private trip, he was representing the nation over there. He can do whatever he feels like in his private life, but not as the head of an Islamic Republic. It was not a light hearted remark, it was a flirty and sensous one.

  • 36 leo // Oct 2, 2008 at 12:56 am

basically they all are power hungry ,power that gives them right to do anything without any shame or fear.

  • 37 ShirullZaman Khan // Oct 2, 2008 at 5:05 am

    @ leo ….

Do you think that political leaders come from somewhere else…?

NO, they are from the same people who want to be ruled …that is why they say ” jaise log waise hukumran milte hain ” .

now you see who is to be blamed for all the woes of today …the people of this country who elect such politicians to the assambilies . and you are looking for a Quaid-e- Azam . sorry sir they come once a blue moon.

  • 38 mrs mansoor // Oct 8, 2008 at 12:24 am

what do u guys think about this guy named imran khan, dont know why but i want to beleive him,he does have the janoon to fight against the currupt politions, the way he filed a case against “our dear altaf bhai” ,my faith is that he is like a fresh breeze in this rotten stinking society of pakistan.wat do u think?

  • 39 shirull zaman khan // Oct 8, 2008 at 3:40 am

    @ mrs mansoor …salaams,

well you have got a point that is well if we all can agree on it …imran khan is a good person and is young has the required fire to fight for the betterment of the people at large …haveing said that ….he is still an intern in the pakistani politics …he has much to learn yet ….but hopefully he will learn the right tricks of our politics …not the other wayt round …so he has about five years to learn …and this is good fpor him …as it would let him mature up abit more and also will be able to put his party to usefull work that later on people will feel that he is the right person for the top job …he does deserve a chance too …okay hope that answers your quire ….thank you !!

  • 40 leo // Oct 8, 2008 at 2:32 pm

my choice will be fatima Bhutto, after 4 years .hope in next election. she can be a true national leader like her grand father .
the other one,s which mrs mansoor is talking about are just in a closed box ,they can be regional leader & street fighter but not a true national leader.
    kal bhi bhutto
    aj bhi bhutto aur
    kal phir fatima bhutto
    bhutto + pakistan = strong democretic country (with 10 % curruption )

  • 41 mrs mansoor // Oct 10, 2008 at 12:19 am

imran can be a national leader if we let him be one ,people always say that he is a good upcoming polition but when it comes to voting, they dont elect him …dont know why though!about fatima bhutto!!!!excuse me sir,not again, the whole family of bhuttos feel as if they own this country and only they have the rigt to rule and make money out of it…come on!!! no more bhuttosssssss!we can be patient and wait for imran to mature, right?

  • 42 shirullzaman khan // Oct 10, 2008 at 4:38 am

    @ mrs.mansoor…salaams,

    Yes …why not …we can wait ,

We are going to wait anyway …like i said that he has five good years to mature up…and be ready for the fight because it is not going to be easy for him to get to the national level …he must try very hard and be shrewd too ..to get there .

    Our prayers are with him…inshallah.

The great Afridis will rule Pakistan one day and this country will know what a good rule is like. Afridis live and rule the hindukush. The Afridis defeated the Alexander and also the Gora armies ran away after facing them in one battle. The Lord Hasting told English people never to take a fight with the Afridis or they will have to leave India. Even Jinnah Sahib begged with the Afridis not to fight with Pakistan or Pakistan will be destroyed.

Zardari Knows the power of the Afridis. He sent his puppet to our elders and ask forgiveness. For now we have forgiven him if he do no more corruption. A little corruption Afridis not mind but if big corruption we will do to him what the hole world not could do. Leave this matter to us Afridis

  • 48 Shirull Zaman Khan // Oct 15, 2008 at 6:15 am

@ mrs: mansoor ….was salaam , the name is shirull zaman khan… how are you today ? hope that everything is fine over there with you ….

I am not a Pashtoon from the Afridi tribe….so i wont know too much about the afridis …maybe you are right about them mr: sher jan .

  • 49 leo // Oct 15, 2008 at 9:05 am

All corrupt pplz will be in hell.no matter ,they are big or small

  • 50 Sher Jan Afridi // Oct 16, 2008 at 8:20 am

Read Olaf Caroe “The Pathans” I am not your history teacher. Shame on pathan who does not know the Afridis.

  • 51 mrs mansoor // Oct 16, 2008 at 11:49 am

sorry for the wrong spelling of your name shirull zaman khan,i am perfectly fine ,and now you mr.afridi!..you are so full of your self …think as a pakistani and not as a pathan only…wow your idea about little curruption!!amazing,so u dont mind some curruption????????i have a suggestion for all the pathans, correct your moral values first and then bragg about your history..stop making those weird vulgur movies,i was going through the channels on my tv and there was a song playing from a pashto movie, such nudity!cheapness ,that was repulsive, instead of burning cd shops check your gareban and then talk about sharia law in frontrier, stop making those xxx movies ,live like a real muslim and then talk about “all the talk about afridis”..no offense!

  • 52 mrs mansoor // Oct 17, 2008 at 1:01 pm

helloooooooo mr afridi ,where are u???

  • 53 Sher Jan Afridi // Oct 17, 2008 at 9:49 pm

    @mrs mansoor

I was stuck down by your bolt of lightning. Ahem!!!!!! just i have recovered. You see Afridis are great but not superhumans.

I dont watch pushto movies and i am scratching my head thinking why you do . All pathans are stong with moral values that is why all people like to be called khans. Even the English give title of Khan Bahadur to chamchas
Most respectfully maaam What so wrong in watching fat women dance.
The afridis are not sharia crazy. They like good food like burray ka gosht, chapli kabab, and cheese made from sheep milk and good life and our bread is best in the world. All people are good but we are more good

No offence meant and offence taken :-

  • 54 Sher Jan Afridi // Oct 18, 2008 at 4:18 am

Sorry. I was meaning No offence meant and No offence taken

There is old saying in Afridis “person who talks too much religion causes trouble” so you may happen to noticed that i do not bring name of religion in my discussion. I take your point about vulgarous movies that many Pushtoons enjoy and this not liked by the Afridis. You can ask Rahmat Shah of Frontier Post. We have a big Afridi network worldwide. In Thailand, Canada, USA, China just wait for the signs of an Afridi rising

  • 55 leo // Oct 19, 2008 at 12:40 am

    & GULL KHAN

  • 57 Kabool // Oct 19, 2008 at 4:00 am

heheheh. they may be all Pathans but oly Shahid khan is Afridi. Maybe you find names funny but we pathans like simple names. My grandfather was called Anar Gul Khan Afridi. Natural.
If i ask you to takes name of many Punjabi and Sindhi people your tongue willbe twisted for many years. Great grand mother was called Mohabbat Gul

  • 58 Sher Jan Afridi // Oct 19, 2008 at 5:51 am

Kabool mara tell these people about us Afridis

  • 59 ali // Oct 19, 2008 at 12:53 pm

@afridi’s …what is wrong with you people?? No family/tribal gene determines greatness. And if one did, then I’d much rather think its a syed (prophets decedent) then afridi. So get over your screwed up infatuation with being a phathan or afridi or whatever

  • 60 leo // Oct 19, 2008 at 2:49 pm

I just confirm with GUL KHAN he said he is afridi plz include him also

  • 61 Kabool // Oct 19, 2008 at 7:52 pm

    @ali

You are right ali. we are all Pakistanis and we should be proud of that. We may have different strengths and weaknesses as Punjabis, Sindhis Pathans, Balochis and Urdus and we should combine to make the best of it. We have to live together so why not make the best of it by giving and taking from each other in equal measures.
This will start by accepting each other as we are.
GOD I MUST BE THE BIGGEST BORE ON EARTH.
some of the afridis have Shah for a prefix and claim to have decended from the prophet.

    @AFRIDI

oyey afridi ab chup ker ja mera aur muun na khalva

  • 62 Shar Jan Afridi // Oct 21, 2008 at 2:01 am

Please dont take the ECL issue so seriously …you are free to state your views about anything or anybody here.

I am sure that Mr.Zardari would prefer a comment here , then people going out in the streets to have their say .

So please speak your mind freely .

  • 68 mrs mansoor // Nov 5, 2008 at 12:44 am

    hi every one!
pakistan is in such a huge financial crisis and mr.100% is expanding the cabinet like a king, that chap has gone insane, can we not protest against this lavish setup!!!!!!

  • 69 Shirull Zaman Khan // Nov 5, 2008 at 7:58 am

yes, it is very bad for the health of the country to have such a big cabinet of ministers …..but again this is Pakistan .

and the people are un-educated and dont know the cost of haveing so many ministers .

i feel that something really bad and tragic is going to take place in this ountry very soon .

whatever happens i pray that it is for the betterment of this poor nation and its people …ameen.

  • 70 Sher Jan Afridi // Nov 11, 2008 at 11:53 am

    @mrs Mansoor
you worry so much for country because
you are such a good hearted women or because you have no one else to worry for. I do not mean no offence only want to know you better.
    @shirul zaman khan
When an afridi becomes the prime minister he will have only one minister (the prime minister) and many chapris
