Skipper concerned by recent cancellations

Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik believes his country is heading for cricketing isolation if security concerns continue to deter teams from touring.
Australia pulled out of a scheduled visit to the country in March and the International Cricket Council also postponed the eight-team Champions Trophy, which had been due to take place in Pakistan in September.
Pakistan will not play any Tests during 2008, a situation that disappoints Malik.
“It is very frustrating for the players the way two important events have been postponed this year,” he said.
“It is so depressing that despite being a major cricket playing nation we do not play a Test match this year.
“The ICC needs to step in and play a more decisive role.
“If teams keep on refusing to tour Pakistan despite assurances even from our government we will become an isolated cricket nation.”

Malik’s fears come true. 2008 they did not play any tests, and it’s highly unlikely they’ll get to play any in the very near future
