27 October 2009, Lahore, ACCA Pakistan organized its first High Achiever’s Ceremony today at a local hotel to appreciate the achievement of 20 global and 34 national High Achievers of ACCA and CAT Examinations of 2008-2009 sessions.
Mr Salman Taseer, Governor Punjab graced the occasion as Chief Guest and presented certificates to the high fliers. Addressing the High Achievers Mr Salman said, “The role of accountancy in development is critical. Accountants add considerable value to business by driving down costs and identifying drivers of value and profitability – and never more so than in the current environment. They are instrumental in obtaining access to finance and strengthening the balance sheet. “
He further extended heartfelt appreciation for ACCA Pakistan for its unwavering commitment towards learning and development of Human Capital in Pakistan.
On the occasion Mr Arif Masud Mirza, ACCA Pakistan, congratulated the awardees, their families and teachers for the brilliant performance of High Achievers. He said, “For over a decade now, ACCA Pakistan has represented opportunity for talented and committed professionals, irrespective of background and location. The prestige and value of ACCA Qualification comes from demonstrating how you can apply the high level of technical knowledge and skill you have gained in the workplace. It is this ability that employers invest in and truly value.”
The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Mr Shamez Mukhi, Head of Marketing, Communications and Media Relations, ACCA Pakistan.
